New BabelShark Feature: Track Proofreaders’ Performance
We've released new tool to assess the efficiency of proofreaders. Now, in the Performance tab, managers can track key performance metrics. The updated functionality includes clear graphs and statistics, allowing for a deeper analysis of how employees work, the volume they handle, and the extent of their edits to translated texts.
What Data is Available in Performance?
In the updated tab, project managers can access several important metrics:
  • Number of translated lines – the total amount of processed content.
  • Percentage of "Auto" status lines – how many lines were approved without modifications.
  • Processed characters – analyzing not just the number of lines but also their length.
  • Average modification rate (Levenshtein distance) – how significantly the text was changed during proofreading.
These metrics provide an objective view of each proofreader’s contribution and help identify strengths and areas for improvement.
How Does This Help Project Managers?
With this new tool, managers can not only monitor employee productivity but also optimize workflows. For example, a high percentage of "Auto" status lines may indicate high-quality translations, while a significant number of changes may suggest the need for improvements in the initial translation. Analyzing this data helps distribute workload efficiently, identify bottlenecks, and enhance overall team performance. This new feature makes translation project management more transparent and effective, ultimately improving the quality of the final content.
