Glossary for Precise Term Translation
Meet a new BabelShark feature — the Glossary, a tool that allows users to manage the translation of key terms. Now, in a dedicated dictionary, you can specify how certain names, brands, and specialized terms should be translated into different project languages. This prevents auto-translation errors and ensures consistency across texts.
When is the Glossary Needed?
The Glossary is especially useful in several cases:
  • Company names. For example, if a brand is called El Corte Inglés, it should remain unchanged in all languages rather than being translated literally.
  • Brand and product names. Machine translation can distort brand names. For example, Vanish in German could be translated as Verschwinden, which completely changes the meaning.
  • Specialized terms. In technical, medical, and legal texts, using consistent terminology is crucial to avoid errors and misunderstandings.
How Does the Glossary Work?
Using the Glossary in BabelShark is straightforward. An owner or project manager adds terms to the dictionary and defines their translations in different languages. When translating new content, BabelShark automatically detects these terms and applies the predefined translations.

The Glossary can be updated at any time — new terms can be added, existing translations modified, or outdated entries removed. This ensures flexibility and full control over translation quality.
How Does This Help?
With this new tool, you can be sure that essential terms remain accurate and consistent. This speeds up the localization process, reduces translation errors, and makes the final content more professional and cohesive. The Glossary in BabelShark is a powerful tool to maintain the translation quality!
